Fenway Park - Home Sweet Home
While the history of Fenway Park in Boston Massachusetts may be common knowledge to the diehard Red Sox fan, not everyone knows that besides the Red Sox, several teams (both baseball and football) have called Fenway Park "Home". The (Boston) Braves played their World Series games there (and won) in 1914 during the construction of their new field. The Boston Redskins played there for 4 years (from 1933 to 1936) before moving the team to Washington. Even the Patriots played in Fenway during the mid 60's. Originally seating 35,000 fans at capacity, the Fenway faithful "packed 'em in" on September 22, 1935 for a game against the Yankees when they stuffed over 47,000 fans into the park. Unfortunately, home field advantage could not help the Sox avoid a sweep by the Yankees. |
